Introducing our NEW Alma Mater! At the football game tonight, our music department will be debuting our new Sacred Heart Alma Mater during pregame! Our choir and band students, with the help of Bennington HS band, will perform it for our Homecoming crowd. This has been a project of our band director, Mr. Barlow, since this summer, and he is excited to share it with you all! What is an Alma Mater? An Alma Mater is a school anthem that is typically played or sung at sporting events or school functions, like graduation or alumni events. Many universities and high schools across the nation have an Alma Mater, and we feel it was important for Sacred Heart to have one as well. This is a step forward in creating a positive culture within our music department and school that will bring tradition for years to come. We will debut the new Alma Mater at 6:45pm tonight, before the Homecoming football game. Go Knights!

Did you know that there is Adoration at SHJSHS every Friday from 8am-3pm during the school year? Since 2010, every student 7th - 12th grade has participated in Adoration as part of their Religion class each week. Each hour is also covered by a group of adult volunteers from across the 3 parishes in Salina. We pray for our school, staff, vocations, and any other needs that arise. For more information or to volunteer, contact Maureen Riordan at robandmo8@eaglecom.net.

All About Justice Read About It! Talk About It! Practice It! Here are some books to help you learn more about justice: •Click, Clack, Moo by Doreen Cronin •The Little Red Hen by Paul Galdone •The Sneetches by Dr. Seuss Here are some discussion points to help you talk about justice with your child: •What do you think justice means and why is it important? •Was that fair? Why or why not? •What does fair mean? What does equal mean? How are they different? •How do we show fairness at home? How does your teacher show fairness at school? ©Counselor
